Nice friendly pub. no chain. fresh vegetables to table. a vegetarian option if desired. good meat portions served. order at the bar then waiter service afterwards. reasonable prices. we were now a few times and it is a nice normal meal,...served in a beautiful normal place. Homemade lemon cheesecake is really very nice! the holmebrook valley park is easy to reach and also the waldreservoir linacre for those who want a walk.

Not a bad pub, friendly service, can walk in for Sunday dinner which is great if hungry and all other local places are full. Large portions but quality of the food is average and the pub is dated. Disappointing as we are here a couple...of years ago and it’s not what it used to be. There are a lot of other pubs close by which I guess the place can’t keep up with. Not bad but not great.

Food is excellent, staff very friendly. Been back many times now, homemade cheesecake is to die for. Would highly recommend

We had been let down badly by another establishment The Sportsman in Crosspool so our party of 6 arrived without a booking for Sunday lunch on 27th October. The staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful, fitting us in and providing...us with a splendid Sunday lunch which was also a birthday treat for an 83 year old! It was very busy but the service was very good and the atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant. Full marks for this establishment we should have booked here in the first place!

Car park is cramped, the service was poor as we had wait about 25 minutes for our order. We ended up not all eating at the same time because some were delivered as they were cooked but there was a delay on others.
