Contribuer aux commentairesI am local to this supermarket. Against my better judgement I decided, after vowing that I wouldn't go there again to try a breakfast. The place had had s bit of a facelift so I thought what the hell, I'll give it another try. Wrong decision! How can they make the good taste do disgusting? My advice... Don't bother with this place. Truly awful
June 4th called in for breakfast at 7.55 the two woman behind the counter looked straight through me as if I was invisible,I learnt from another waiting customer that they open at 8am. Obvious thing to have said in my opinion would have been good morning we open in five I went to use what turned out to be the most revolting toilets you can imagin. I returned 10 minutes later asked for scrambled egg on toast only to be told sorry due to staff shortage the only hot food available is toast this morning. Surely they could have got a shop assistant to serve on the till and these older ladies would have had enough cooking experience between them to do scrambled eggs and probable a few more items off the very basic menu. (It 's hardly àl la carte) I returned the following week June 11th and I couldn 't believe the loos were even worse. I will email the head office photos and they can give me their view if this is exceptable.
We meet up on a Saturday after our shopping for our usual jacket potato. Only 2 of us this week, we both had Coronation chicken filling, very good. We would of liked the prawns but as usual they were sold out. Also on offer was tuna and sweetcorn, Cheese and beans. We paid £3-85 each. Lots of other choices of foods, but we always go for jacket potatoes. The staff here are always very friendly, it was very busy today and always clean and tidy. Quick service.
Sainsbury's Letchworth has gone way way downhill since their main shop floor manager left about a year ago. From what I could see she held everything together, prided herself on customer satisfaction and ensured it all ran like clockwork. The restaurant used to be top notch for a supermarket cafe. Now they have whittled down the options, the machinery keeps breaking, more often than not you are told there is a 25 minute wait for food despite there being a sparse amount of people in the cafe. Plus although some of the original staff are trying to soldier on there are a lot of new youngsters who really need some decent training. It's a shame as a couple of years back I used to go on and on about our classy Letchworth Sainsburys cafe. Now I might just buy a takeaway coffee and make my escape. Probably the automation of Sainsburys getting rid of customer service desk and losing the personal touch has contributed to this. Shame.
This place used to be a lovely supermarket cafe where one could have a nice drink and/or eats. This place has continued to decline for ages and continues to do so...Today, I had to go into the kitchen area to find someone to serve. Coffee was only warm. There were no Danish pastries available at all. Not even non sugar sweeteners were available. On this occasion there was hardly anyone sitting in the restaurant. Perhaps people are avoiding this place or perhaps Sainsbury's are deliberately running this place down so that they can close it down. Who knows but it really isn't a decent place. I really would give this place zero stars if I could.
