My brother wanted to eat Haitian food and I told him about Ivan and his delicious accra and marinade. My brother for the first time tried Chef Ivan's food and he was totally amazed and satisfied.
The Chef Akra with the sauce is the best!!! The griot was good too, if you eat pork.
This was my first time at this establishment as well as 5 other ppl in my family. We ate there today and we all enjoyed the food. It was 7 of us with 7 different plates and 7 different taste buds and all of our food was hot, well presented and tasted GREAT. We had 2 different appetizers 1 that was a sampler plate with different food on it. The other 1 was called MoFongo which came in beef or shrimp( I had beef). I don't eat seafood or Pork but my family members that do enjoyed the other appetizer. The waiter gave us the plantains w/ hummus as a starter. All in all my family had a wonderful time there. The chef/owner came out and greeted us and spoke with us for a few. I would recommend this establishment to others if you want good Authentic Haitian food, that has a pinch of Asian cuisine in it go there. The chef takes his time making all the meals from scratch so it does take a little long for food to come out but ours was worth the wait.
Food was delicious! We were a party of four and we ordered different dishes from the menu and we love it all. Atmosphere was great and cozy! Chef Ivan was nice, took the time to take a few pics with us and later stopped by to thank us! The appetizer sampler is a must, the snapper is amazing reminded me of the fish that we get on the beach in Haiti) and the rhum punch is on point. I am so proud of Chef Ivan for displaying our food and culture with such an amazing touch! I will definitely go back. I thank the chef and the staff for such hospitality.
Our overall dining was great . Chef Ivan and staff were personable and friendly. The menu offers a variety of Caribbean and some Asian dishes. I had the grilled red snapper which was perfectly done. My brother had the goat tasso which was well seasoned and tender. We plan on trying different entrees on our next visit. We highly recommend this place.
