I recommend Grey Seal as a coffee shop despite the unappealing decor that feels more fitting for the East End of London than a traditional seaside town. The coffee is very good and the staff are pleasant, although there are times when more staff are needed to keep up with demand. The cakes are also decent.
This is a fantastic coffee shop with a pleasant atmosphere and welcoming team. The coffee here is the best we've had in a while, and they also welcome dogs!
Absolutely lovely place. Efficiently run. Smiley staff. Really good coffee. Tables cleared quickly. Busy. Smashing cakes especially the cinnamon bun/pastry. Well thought out decor industrial chic. Love it.
I've been to the grey seal in Wells years ago, she several times and it was a lovely place. Stylish and a pleasure to spend time in. Therefore when passing the Grey seal in Cromer I suggested we pop in. Not sure if it's been sold and some new people running it now but it was totally different. It was scruffy, dirty, pots everywhere and we couldn't wait to get out. Shame this little chain has gone really downhill.
