The food was amazing, freshly home cooked scones, lemon drizzle cake and shortbread that was to die for. The setting was fascinating due to the walls being adorned by local artists work and warm and cozy because of the crackling log burners. Highly recommended for a lunch, tea stop or a private function. Well done and thank you to David and the team at the Rowan Tree Tea Rooms
Not easy to find but worth the effort .Old Weston quarry arts centre with some history and nature info, but most important a great little cafe. Great food ,freshly made ,good prices and friendly staff. Bit of a downside is the opening times of actual arts workshops, seems to be a irratic.Arts trail is a great event
We have moved close by it is a perfect spot to combine with a walk in the woods with friends/family. The 'frappacinos ' were terrible (we purchased 3). Milk (not cold enough), barely a taste of coffee, whipped cream on top a glass of ice cubes to add to cool them down. We also purchased a black coffee with milk on the side this too was terrible. It was cheap coffee undrinkable. My daughter left it, even after working up a thirst with our walk. Other beverages are probably better the cakes food on offer looked tasty, but I would not purchase coffee again.
Having been a regular visitor to Weston Super Mare over the last few years the old town quarry was a new find upon my last visit, the café is very quirky and reasonably priced, the outdoor seating area works well during the summer months
We ate here today on my birthday! Greek salad with olive bread followed by the best cup of tea in Weston! Service was quick and efficient. There is a proper toilet now inside the cafe which replaces the earth closet outside (which must have kept a lot of people away, in my opinion). This fabulous place is the best-kept secret and more people should be made aware of it. The quarry itself is steeped in history and actually my own house was built from the stones quarried there in the late 1800s.
