Contribuer aux commentairesI ordered j pork with rice peas I asked to have the oxtail gravy on it, as I like my rice to have gravy. I was disappointed. There was absolutely no gravy, thinking of j food one would expect it to be a little spicy but this was not. I have had much better j pork before. There used to be a j place on Kingston rd Morningside unfortunately they closed
Despite the fact that this restaurant is located in a plaza that needed improvements, and the mediocre plain salad I am still giving Juicy J an excellent rating. My 5 star rating is really based on the excellent taste of the j chicken only. It was really good and the portion was right. The rice and peas were okay and could have used some more gravy. I wished they gave me coleslaw of some tomato on the salad. Anyway, again the chicken was so good. It reminded me of a Chinese roasted chicken.
Seafood on Thursday was excellent! Very fresh and served hot! See you soon!
Amazing food and very reasonable prices. Try the j pork! Incredible
Date visited : Saturday January 22, 2022Comments :Wifey got off late from work tonight. So we didn't feel like cooking. I did check what Chinese resto options were available past 9pm. Not many. I did call Juicy J and they informed me they were open till 11pm on Saturday. The parking is kinda bad currently due to all the extra snow piled in the lot. Also, lots of rental cargo vans/trucks consuming parking spaces. They do accept Debit/InteracService : 3/5Lady we spoke to was very friendly. She explained that their menu changes daily and the only static items on the menu are the J Chicken and J Pork dishes.Food : 3/5We ordered J Chicken (comes with rice and peas), Peppered Shrimp w/Festival dumpling. Now, I'm not an expert by any means on J Chicken. The chicken meat itself was juicy, the chicken pieces looked like 2 drumsticks that had been cut up. We did find the spice level ok, however the skin was too salty for us. We were not too keen on the rice and peas. As for the Peppered Shrimp, wow for us, this had a kick spice wise. The shrimp itself was tender, not overcooked, just the spiciness had us looking for a glass of milk.Drinks :N/APortion Size Value for Money Spent : 3/5Both the J Chicken and the Peppered Shrimp were $10 each, HST seems to be included. However, for the $10 spent, it seemed a bit on the steep side for the amount of food we received.Worth repeat visit :Kinda on the fence on this, we might come back for the J Chicken alone, without rice and peas. Also the Festival dumplings were good too. Not sure what else they have since their daily menu is changing each day, with exception to the already mentioned J Chicken and J Pork.
