Sean is a fantastic server, very friendly and knowledgeable We had Fall salad, kale Caesar then the whitefish and the halibut special. Everything was great We are lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber so close to home.
Really expected better. The men liked the burgers. The women did jot care for the chicken Marsala. The rolls were very hard. Fries came w the burgers but the men ordered a side of fries as they didn’t know. The waiter should have said something as they were not needed.
Great Food, Great Staff, Nice Ambience. Outdoor or Indoor dining.
This was our first visit and we realized we should have come sooner! Our friends were celebrating their anniversary and we wanted to take them out to a place that they enjoyed and this was it. First about the ambience – it’s a small place the tables have no table cloths so it can be a little loud once it gets full. When the sun is blazing in from the west if you are seated near the bar you can be blinded from the reflection of the light off of the building next-door coming in through the front window. Our friends bought a nice bottle of wine and the corkage fee was which for a higher in place I understand this place is kind of straddling the middle so I found it a bit high. That being said the menu as I just mentioned feels like it’s a mixture of moderately priced and higher end. They have a couple of beef dishes on the menu in the range, some fish in the and then some very well priced chicken dishes in the upper teens or lower I have no idea how much the drinks cost because we were enjoying the wine they had brought. They did bring out complimentary bread with butter which we did not request, the crab cakes which were special for the day which were and in my opinion or not worth the cost. They were very small. For entrées we chose the chicken marsala and two of us had broccolini instead of the polenta that came with it. The polenta was a little set as it was no longer really creamy and soft. It had some chunky appearance to it even though it tasted good. My dish was the special halibut of the day which was absolutely, positively perfectly cooked. A nice light golden crust and a very tasty sautéed fennel and artichoke heart The desserts is where they fared the worst. The chocolate peanut butter lava cake our friends ordered, for me peanut butter in a dessert is too pedestrian. It makes everything taste like a Reese‘s peanut butter cup. It had three layers, but was dry and cold. If we returned I would order fish again!
Of us had the halibut. We all thought it Could’ve used more seasoning.
