I was in this house for my dinner. the “Gaststube” is typical Bavarian, ground-level tables and chairs with a small table cloth. the menu with all Bavarian specialties and, of course, a local beer brewed by nearby monks in etta abbey. the food was very good and you could hear how the cook shakes the meat. the menu is in German and maybe in question there is one in English. most German restaurants have menu outside, so they can see what they offer and the prices for each meal.
This is a nice place to relax and to enjoy the typical Bavarian gastronomy. Is located in the village center of Oberammergau. you will have the sensation to be at home. I recommend you.
We visited almost all Bauvarian restaurants in oberammergau and this was by far the best. All portions are very good and large.. Prices are good and the cost for 3 including a drink is about 50 euros. Roasted pork and snitzhel are a must to...try.
We went here twice during our visit to Oberammergau and both times had excellent food. I had the Schnitzel one night followed by the veal the next...both well served and both a good size. My wife, who is a vegetarian also had a reasonable choice...both times. Prices are reasonable, the beer fabulous, try the one in the stein. Service was also good, No complaints.
