Contribuer aux commentairesMamma Lucia was another preshow dinner [Ave Q Olney]. It's basic Italian with no mistakes. Portions were big. The accompanying bread was good and the dipping oil above average with garlic and parmesan. I was told the chicken parmesan was very good. My vitello penbe in creamy marsala tasted fine if the sauce was a little heavy. Red pepper shakers were part of the standard table setting, a plus. Our server Lauren was good and gamely brought our preshow check early and split it between two credit cards with no fuss. I'll remember Mamma L for future preOlney dinner.
The wait staff was very friendly and even brought us a special birthday treat for my wife. The mushroom ravioli is top notch!
The food was tasty though the sauce was a little too sweet for my pallet. It 's a great spot for groups and families with children. the noise level can get 'energetic ' so I would not recommend this location for a 'romantic ' dinner. There is outside seating though there is no view to speak of, just the parking lot. The service was the best part.
Just after arriving and placing drink orders, the shopping center lost power due to a major thunderstorm. Although it never regained power, we stayed until it was safe to go home. During this period, the restaurant and waitstaff in particular were great. They provided us with what food they could and were able to manage an otherwise bad situation.
Good for a night when nobody wants to cook, has a nice variety to choose from
