It breaks my heart to leave this review on here because I LOVE HAVENS! The food is AMAZING, the drinks are SPECTACULAR, and usually the service is great! However, yesterday my sister and I went in for a celebration dinner and we brought my nephew with us. My nephew does have Autism so his palate is more particular when it comes to food. We brought in a pizza from blaze for him to eat while my sister and I enjoy dinner and drinks. However, our server told us that unfortunately he was not allowed to eat his pizza there. I didn't think it was right to stay there or have my nephew wait outside for us while my sister and I had dinner. The server was nice about it however, I also didn't think it was right to make a scene and embarrass my nephew in front of everyone there and demand for him to eat his pizza because he's autistic and he gets a pass. We got up and left the establishment. To be honest I'll probably never come back here again. This is usually my go-to spot and other servers are more familiar with us so maybe it wouldn't have been an issue if that was the case. I also understand that there health codes that Havens has to abide by. However, in the grand scheme of things I didn't think a $15 dollar pizza would be an issue for my nephew to eat there since my sister and I were planning on eating full on meals. In the past I've seen many parents bring outside food for their kids while they enjoy a meal there so I'm not sure why the rules were different for us. I hope there can be accommodations for future diners who come in with family members who require certain needs.
Brunch time @havenorange had the duck chilaquiles with mole, which had a spicy kick to it and had some waffles with fruit in @orange circle . Chill spot will try and come back for dinner one of these day 4/5 rating #orange #blog #eats #eddie #chilaquiles #waffles #circle #haven #food #review
We came here on a Saturday wanting some beers. It was about mid afternoon and they weren't too busy, so we got seated right away. It did take the servers a little longer than we'd liked to ask if we were ready, but it wasn't too big of a deal. So! We ended up getting a flight of beers to share between the two of us, and the flavors were all pretty good! We got the Super Tonic (milk chocolate, roasted coffee stout this one was a little too dark for my liking, yet still surprisingly tasty. Blueberry Muffin (fruited sour this was light yet tasted as you've probably already guessed like blueberry muffin. Big Papaya (fruited sour this was light and tasted kinda fruity. Not distinctively like Papaya, but it was enjoyable. And lastly, Absolutely Lite: Mango (tart ale this one was a bit tooooo lite but you could taste hints of mango if you really tried. Overall, a great experience. This used to be a place I frequented back in the day, and it was nice to see their menu options and beer options as well. Hoping to come back soon and try some of their food items as well :
