Contribuer aux commentairesReally wanted to give this place a shot after Kelseys closed (RIP Kelseys Wing Night), but after a few attempts, just can't go back. Tonight took over an hour to get 2 orders of chicken wings, and were basically forgotten by our server. She didn't check in or even know we were still waiting. When we DID get food, it was barely warm. Asked for the check, and even that took so long that we had to go get it. Seemed like the staff they had were busy talking to regulars at the bar.Place looks like a dive, and feels like it too. Will not be back.

Absolute Comedy was awesome! Line up was pretty solid! Entertainment value was awesome! The wings: Tried to order “hot” wings: like Franks Hot sauce hot wings. Wings were ordered at 7pm, didn’t receive them until 7:45 pm. Barely any sauce on them, might as well have been out of a box and thrown in a microwave. Was only drinking water, water ran out, was never refilled. Apparently this place is “too cool” for “Franks Red Hot sauce”. They serve some kind of weird sauce. Tried the sauces on the table, none of them are that good. The problem is that the wing night competitions occurred over 20 years ago and industry determined the best standards…20 years ago. Trying to reinvent the formula at this point is basically a wasted effort. Unless you’re going to separate the meat from the bone partially, then marinate the wings, then either batter or straight deep fry them, it’s not worth doing it. These wings were breaded and frankly, gross. Wouldn’t have bothered with the breading. Straight up, skin on flash fry, double fry and tossed in sauce. Not rocket science. Doesn’t even compare to the JJs wings experience, Local Heroes wing experiences or the Chucks road house wings experience. Frankly, disappointing like the St Louis wings experience. The reason for this review is because I am craving wings again and JJs wings has my mouth drooling.If I was going to do a special Moose McGuires Special Wing Night: I would get the wings uncoated, split, then peel the meat partially off each wing so it’s bone is basically a toothpick, and I would marinate the wings in ABC sauce with seasoning, then right before first fry, drop into a mix of seasoned corn starch to get it to crisp up. Then fry until the wings are blanched, then portion and set aside. When the order comes up, finish the cooking, and toss in a solid sauce that everyone knows. Using obscure sauces is like using different languages and while everyone is familiar with English, hot sauce has about 5 billion different combinations. That’s why we use Franks as a industry standard. St Louis restaurant uses their own hot sauce and it’s gross.Unless you are the market leader or the standard by which all others will judge, just use Franks. Trying to be different leads to you running 10 cent wing night which isn’t profitable and if your wings suck why bother?It’s better to run a gourmet wing night and charge a bit more but showcase your wings and your skills.
Been there for many wing nights, they changed their wings a little while ago and they are now fantastic. Good wings for the price on wing night, an alright selection of craft beers.
