The Pizza Shop - Osgoode

Milano's has now opened in Osgoode! Renowned in urban Ottawa for serving some of the best pizza, residents of Osgoode can now indulge in their delicious offerings.

The pizza restaurant is decent, but it's not the best I've ever tried.

The Pizza Shop knows what they're doing. I have tried nearly everything on the menu since they opened a year ago and haven't felt disappointed once. There are no processed meats or sauces here. The owners actually make their own sausage, pizza sauce, mayonnaise, dips, etc. from scratch.An absolute must try is the Chicken Club. This sandwich is so filling a side of fries or poutine (loaded with St. Albert's cheese curds) is not even possible... but, if you're like me and can't do without a side split the sandwich and a poutine with someone, it's so worth it. The club is mothered in their homemade garlic mayo.. these guys should bottle the stuff, its just amazing.Oh and for good measure, top it all off with ice cream or a shake. Located right across the street from the village park, it's the perfect place to bring kids for a summer treat (they can burn the sugar off on the swings!)A year into it, these guys have really found their groove. The best pizza place in Ottawa.

The Pizza Shop specializes in pizza but also offers daily specials such as fries, onion rings, donairs, chicken wings, and more. We tried the medium "Canadian" pizza with 2 additional toppings for $21.50. The pizza had lots of cheese and fresh ingredients, with a crust that seemed to be made in-store rather than frozen. The restaurant is located where Ozzie Pizza used to be, but The Pizza Shop has improved on the burnt tomato sauce and greasy toppings of its predecessor. The decor is still basic and could use some updating, but they have made efforts to clean it up. However, there were a few drawbacks, such as a fan running against the ice cream freezer compressor and bags of supplies piled next to an unsupervised freezer in the lobby. The service was courteous and quick, with our pickup taking only 25 minutes. They also offer delivery service.
