I recently ordered a large variety of food from this restaurant including wings, ribs, calamari, and pizza. I was told the order would be ready in 30 minutes, but when I arrived on time, I ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations.
I went to the restaurant for dinner on its grand opening day after it came under new management. The interior had been completely renovated, with new tables and chairs and a fresh new look.
We have been here several times using a coupon from the local paper that says buy one lunch entrée get one lunch entrée free. Each time we’ve been, the staff have told us that whatever you order from the menu, you only get credit for the lesser priced item which is under lunch specials. Please note there is nothing that says lunch “entrées” on the menu. We have ordered other items of more value, but only got credit for a lunch special of about $12 with the coupon. This time the server said she “called Jay” and was told no, you have to order both items from the lunch specials which are less than money. So she wouldn’t honour the coupon. I guess they would rather have people spend less money. Anyway, this was our last visit. The server was fairly rude, especially to the older couple behind us.
I have been to the Thornton Arms several times recently with friends both for lunch and for dinner. Food is good and plentiful and service has been good. I've tried several items including several kinds of salad, chicken wings, wraps, and steak and kidney pie. Food is always freshly prepared and the right temperature. We will definitely continue to go there when we want a reasonably priced and delicious meal.
