Post-Covid staff seems to be a problem everywhere, so service may not be the fastest ...it has not disturbed us, but wait staff were enthusiastic and working very hard. We had a carafe of a pleasant house wine and the main thing of chicken marsala and Jambalaya. We decided very wisely against a starter or dessert, as portion sizes are large. If we had lived on site, half the meal would have come home with us, but we sold everything. We enjoyed our food, both dishes and accompanying pasta were excellent. It reminds me of Zia's in Summerland reliable family style house cooking without too many bells and pipes. I get the feeling that there is a regular customer base of locals outside the tourist season, which is really useful for businesses to survive in the Okanagan. Thanks to our really beautiful Australian server, which was pleasant and dedicated.
Much volume. Tastes like Italian food in the 1970s would probably have cost. Scallop appetizer consisted of the most delicious fried scallops in the world, swimming in a garlic cream soup. Mains were good, but not writing home. Place was... packed to the rafters, many gray hair- definitely the senior set loves this place. Service was friendly and food came super fast. Not bad, but probably one and done for us.
The hotel suggested this restaurant for dinner. I ordered the veal with asparagus in a white sauce, but it tasted like cheap frozen meat and lacked flavor. I had to ask for extra cheese and pepper to make it somewhat palatable. Both dishes we tried were plain and unimpressive. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and felt like I wasted my money.
We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and it was great. They don't take reservations, so it's first come, first served. We got there just before 6:00 pm and had to wait for about half an hour (even though we were told it would only be 20 minutes). I ordered the Fettuccine Supremo and my wife had the Lasagna al Forno. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were very generous. We enjoyed our meals so much that we ended up saving some leftovers for breakfast the next day.
The food and service at this restaurant were excellent, but our experience was marred by a lack of reservations. We arrived at 4:50 for the 5 o’clock opening, only to be kept waiting in a holding area for at least half an hour without any cocktail service. By the time we were finally seated, some diners were already finishing their meals. This has happened to us before, with our previous wait stretching to an hour while others with supposed reservations were seated before us. When we questioned this practice, we were dismissed. Despite the good food, this frustrating experience has left us with no desire to return to this establishment, as it is not the only option in town.
