Subway - Ottawa

Came for a quick lunch and got a Tandoori Twist. The service was pretty quick. The chicken cutlet they used only actually filled about 2/3rds of the 6 inch sub, it was too short so there was just a lot of extra bread. I also found that the chicken cutlet had several big chunks of just fat in it, which wasn't very pleasant to bite down on. The sandwich was edible but I feel like I got less than I paid for and the quality of what I did get was lacking. It's been years since I've been to subway but a friend had preordered lunch so I decided to give them another shot and this is one of the worst quality subs I've had, in terms of the core ingredients. Went to pay and was asked if a paper $5 bill was american money it was obviously canadian, then accused of having fake money,then told they might not be able to accept it and I need to take it to a bank even tho I got it from the bank.at which point 3 staff members were involved they accepted it.theres still paper money in circulation,idk how someone working a cash hasn 't seen a paper bill before.up to around 2004/5 we had paper before the plastic bills.employees were rude to me then rude to another customer about his drink refill which turned into a shouting match between the staff and customer.they were also rude and confrontational to someone who was trying to use the washroom.the food was overpriced and a little skimpy on toppings but that 's subway for you these days.food tasted fine,but this place wasn 't a present experience. Staff gets all weird when you ask for extras. They dont want to add it.

I went in for lunch today at approx. 12:30-12:45 pm today. Most of their staff from previous visits are nice and helpful. However, today was the worst Subway experience ever. I went in to order a foot long Italian BMT on Italian herbs and cheese bread. When it got to the toppings, there was a female Indian lady that was serving me. I noticed there was a difference in tomatoes in the tomato plastic tray because 1 row of tomatoes had the white core colour which I personally find has a hard chewing taste. So with that being noticed I politely asked if I could specifically not get those tomatoes with the white colour core and get the tomatoes in the middle row that did not have it. I was met with the most rude an abrupt response of NO I was taken back and questioned what do you mean? why? Supposedly the female Indian lady that was serving me was the manager because her employee also stepped in and they both claimed that all the tomatoes there are the same Which was clearly incorrect and he couldn 't do anything because he said She 's my boss . She went on say If these are bad tomatoes then the other customers will say it 's bad I 'm sure there 's other customers who don 't mind and like eating the white core of tomatoes so her statement was invalid. I told them I 'm not trying to argue but the damage had been done because her of her tone and rudeness. Mind you there were 6-8 other customers behind me in line who could also hear the conversation. I was so embarrassed I went on to say I don 't want the sub anymore and walked out. I ended up going to another Subway restaurant at 240 Sparks St. Unit C140, Ottawa, ON K1P 6Z9. The workers were so much more nicer and I told them what happened and they said if it 's the customer 's preference they will accommodate and help. Unfortunately this wasn 't the case at this 106 Bank St, Ottawa, ON K1P 5N4 location. I 'm so upset. I am never going back to this location. Service: 1
