To our surprise and delight, our lunch was just delicious, and even our two non-vegan young guests loved it. The spinach curry with tofu and rice, served with dal rivalled the best I've ever had anywhere, and my companion's thali and the children's salad and smoothies were equally excellent. Dessert cookies were great but on the crumbly side. Service was friendly and not rushed. Just a wonderful dining experience.
I go to the Peace Garden every time I am in the ottawa market area. It’s a quiet spot to regroup and the food and service is always delightful. The Satan are friendly and make sure their guests are happy. Highly recommend you seek this place out. It’s tucked away in a quiet business plaza but the seating is surrounded by well cared for plants and feels like a little garden oasis. The curry, sweet potatoe burger, lassi are favourites.
The food from the Peace garden is fresh and delicious. My daughter is a vegan and really enjoyed the sweet potato burger. Salads were fresh and full of variety. Would recommend.
Visited while in Ottawa and had a fantastic experience. The best vegetarian food I’ve had anywhere. Beautiful colours. The beet curry was a revelation and the Rose Mango Lassi was a great. Staff were super friendly, helpful and kind. Seating was appropriately distanced so I felt safe and like eating in a garden. Charming spot and I highly recommend a visit!
I visited the Peace GArden Café, in the heart of Ottawa's Byward Market and was quite impressed with both food and service. 1- Very special samosas! 2- Very tasty dahl 3- Vegan dates square : very generous portion; homey taste 4- Home made yogourt every day 5- Owned and operated by the same Devakripa, so probably the first female-owned vegetarian in Ottawa (since 1992)
