Books Brews - Oxford

Aka church street social now! The food options I've tried are fine, they aren't anything special and there just are better choices of places to eat in Oxford. However, their drinks are good, they have a nice selection. My most recent fav find is their espresso martini. The environment is also casual and cute, it's a chill place to hang out. Appreciate their patio because there aren't a ton of outdoor places to eat/drink in Oxford!!!

Food+ atmosphere 4 stars. Friday evening dinner was a hit great spot in Oxford. Books n brews is a good place for a bite on the weekend/ a night out. Both got the quesadilla (one with chicken, one without meat) jalapeños were hot but doable. Service was good and a wide selection of beer/ wine were offered. Due to the small selection of ~nice~ restaurants in Oxford, would go back for a semi special occasion. However, it would be nice if the diversified their food menu.

This place is garbage. Their naan flatbread is literally worse than a children's lunchable. My friend almost threw up on the table when she ate this soggy disgrace. It was also covered in unmelted cheddar cheese. The food here is literally not at all worth your money.

I wish I could rate this 0 stars. To be honest, could even rate this in the negative star category. The food is heinous. Service is fine. Waitress seems to have trouble separating the bill appropriately. Check out process took longer than the wait for our food (absurd . Salad came out without dressing. No redeeming qualities. Hummus platter came with approximately 1 tbsp of hummus, 4 dry pita squares, and 4.5 carrots. McCullough Hyde has better food. On the previous visit, I received cold (literally still frozen chicken wings and a waitress who spoke excessively about other staff. Overall, prices are absolutely offensive given the quality. For example, the hummus plate was $10.

I highly recommend checking out Church St Social! The food is decent, with the buffalo cauliflower being a standout. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the atmosphere is fun and perfect for trivia nights. You can also enjoy a humble martini here that will hit the spot.
