Green Elephant Gourmet - Palo Alto

We just had an excellent meal at Green Elephant. The entrees were delicious and the portions were generous, so we even took some leftovers home. The service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. The takeout service was bustling as well. We'll definitely be returning!

From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that they prioritize health and safety—there’s a tissue box at the door so you don't have to touch the handle. Both waitstaff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delightful. The mango salad was a standout, especially with its delicious peanut dressing. We ordered an appetizer sampler, which turned out to be a mix of fried items that we weren’t expecting, but we thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. One unique aspect of the appetizer platter is the dipping sauces; one is labeled as spicy, but it’s more flavorful than hot—akin to Wasabi heat. The sweet sauce was also quite tasty. For our main course, we had chicken with broccoli and rice, which was excellent. The vegetables were perfectly steamed, and unlike many other places, there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of oil or salt. Overall, this restaurant is a true gem.

The lunch was delightful, and the ambiance was enjoyable. The serving sizes were quite ample.

I eat here with my family fairly often it's a convenient and serviceable neighborhood restaurant, but not somewhere I'd go good for a special occasion. The food is reasonably good (our young kids really like it). The service is usually good enough, but with the odd wobble the one time we came here with another family of 4 there was a lot of friction with the staff and the experience was pretty tense. Reading other reviews I wonder whether they're not so comfortable handling big groups. I also wish they'd give the bathrooms a good scrub. But we look past that and keep going back.
