I went to pick up an online order while the barkeeper (the only worker on the floor) went back. another man went in. he was there to pick up a call. when you try to sit in a barostool, it slides over the floor and the older man fell quite hard. I wanted to help him and at that time a waitress and saw him on the floor. she asked if he was in order and ran into the kitchen. she came back and asked if he needed ice or wanted to talk to a manager. He said he was okay, but the chair should be considered. a man named chris came out of the kitchen with his dinner. he never asked the customer if he was in order. when the bartender returned his credit card to him and asked if he was in order, he said someone should look at the chair. the owner/manager chris looked at the older man and said that it might be your inadequate shoes. the older man intimidated. the man wore topsiders. When the man left Christ, he put the chair back and never examined him. his head missed the waiter counter by less than one inch that killed him. I think the fat floor and thin metal legged chair made it slip across the floor almost to a heavy injury. the owner/manager could not have taken care of at all. he only ate his meal after he had dismissed the man rudely. if they feel so about their customers, they should not work in a customer service industry. the following answer of the owner is not true.
First, they are “provisional” non serving alcohol without explanation. second, that was our second visit after an overpriced moderate burger a few months ago. we ordered overpriced short rib poutins (see photo), the meat was room temperature and the frits were oil-soaked. there was hardly any cheese and it was not melted. we have told our server and they said that eating can be replaced, but we went and paid for our $5 well soda, for which I received a courtesy after filling.
On Friday night there was at 7:00 a.m. dinner, our first note should have been the parking space empty and almost no one was in there, but we had gone years ago and were over, so decided to stop. the service was good, very attentive and friendly by the hostess and waitress. However, the prices were high, as in these days I guess, but $15 for a fat undercooked hamburger, which probably the cheapest quality frozen patty, which they did not value the patronage by the dealer and on a dollar store quality bunk. And from any reason they did not serve any alcohol, they do not know whether it is temporary or they have their alcohol license from any reason. many better decisions along route 30/Lancaster.
Very disappointed by our food and service tonight, first our waitress brought us out of the wrong food, we have clearly ordered two burgers and they brought us this strange looking sandwiches! when they finally broke out the burgers, they were very raw after we had clearly explained that we wanted them to be cooked well. While she was apologetic, not much else was done in her part to fix the situation, we paid the full bill, although our food was not yet prepared for our satisfaction. Unfortunately we will not return to tj, I understand that they are probably still recovering from this pandemic and that something should be done to satisfy the customers.
Last night I met a couple friends at TJ's Restaurant Drinkery for dinner. Can't believe in the 10yrs I've lived in the area it was my first time here. Their draft beer selection is quite impressive. My friend and his girlfriend shared the frech fries with short ribs appetizer and a burger. The presentation of the long plate of fries was a huge and I tried the short ribs and wow were they good. I ordered the wild mushrooms quesadilla appetizer and honestly could have had just this for dinner, very tasty!! Ordered the cajun chicken sandwich which was bursting with flavor but was so full from the quesadila that I barely got through half a sandwich and took the rest home along with the coleslaw, which I highly recommend. The bartender Joe was super friendly and we got talking with the owner Billy, who's also really nice. The restaurant sits off of rt 30 in Paoli by the train station.
