I started going to Peninsula Pines (Westphals Resort) when I was 8 (I am now 35). We spent a week there almost every summer until I was married. Since I've been married, I've been back four times. This place is really my home away from home. It was also really a relaxing holiday. Without phones or TVs, our time for fishing, swimming, reading and just relaxing. The places, sounds and odours are printed in my mind... from the echo of laughter to the lake and through the trees, to the screen doors, which after entering or leaving the cabins, to the sound of the sand under our sandals, when we went down the way, to the beautiful and insidious reputation of the mood. The smell of the pine trees and the cabins also warms my heart. I hate to even recommend this place, because I never want it to be so booked, we cannot make a reservation. We were last here in 2016. We visited another resort near this last summer. I will say there are pros and cons to any resort in the area and you just have to decide what is most important for you. I have some pictures of our holiday on the Pines Peninsula in 2016.
Great little backwoods north. Rustic and friendly. Beer is cold and the pizza is hot. On my bike tour stopped and Nyla was very accommodating to set up my tent in the grass. I'll stop at some point.
I've been here for over 40 years. Great place to relax and enjoy the week. Always ready to go back.
Great place for a drink. Friendly people. .. Nila is the best.
