We walked in and at first was going to sit at the bar, but then noticed there would be a tight area for us to sit in so we started to walk towards an empty clean table (we saw multiple of them available). This waitress storms up and says uh, excuse me, you need to be seated at the host stand , her face in anger and total body language just gave you the feeling like you were a child being put in time out. I kindly replied back saying no problem because, that 's totally fine. But the way she reacted was so immature. I 'm sure she was just having a bad day, but I won 't be coming back after this experience.
I happened upon this place when a friend came in from out of town and was staying at O'Hare and wanted something close. I ish I knew about it before then. What a great Irish Pub in Park Ridge. Parking was easy right on the street. Many establishments on this section of Main St have taken over the sidewalks in front (during Covid) and have kept the areas blocked off to extend restaurant eating space. We sat at a high boy table and they had a nice foot rest so your feet weren't dangling. That's a big plus in my book. There are a ton of bars and restaurants that miss the mark on this key thing. Don't let people's feet dangle, but in a dang foot rest. The appetizers looked tasty, but instead we got a couple drinks and dove right into our entrees. My friend got a sandwich and I got the pot roast. OMG, the pot roast was juicy and tender, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the grilled vegetables were perfectly seared. The gravy on the pot roast was spot on.
Had my sons communion party here which was a disaster from the beginning, the staff cannot accommodate parties. Unfortunately, decided to give it a second try thinking it was just a busy day, but come to find out this is how they run their business. Held my brothers memorial service here with the understanding of the menu and beverage items included. The owner, Jerry was of course not present for the event, which is probably typical so he can leave his unprofessional employees run the show. We were told they could accommodate our party but was not aware it would be split into two separate rooms, and again, told one price on the food and beverages and charged another. Do yourself a favor and hold your parties elsewhere, the food isn't that great, and the service is ****. Go to Curragh instead they have a beautiful private upstairs bar. Nicole, one of the waitresses was pleasant. The other old hag was rude and the bartender obviously hates her job.
The door of this bar indicates that it is open until 2 am, but when we visited on October 8 around 9:30 pm, we were informed by a rude woman that the kitchen was closed and that we needed to order drinks at the bar ourselves. Later, she announced a "last call" at 10 pm, despite the advertised closing time of 2 am. This inconsistency between the stated hours and the actual service provided by the staff led to a disappointing experience. We used to frequent this establishment due to its proximity to our home, but the poor service and attitude of the staff have deterred us from returning. Service and atmosphere both rated as 1 out of 5.
The food was excellent. Being dairy and gluten free dining out is difficult. No salad for me. Braised lamb shank was outstanding. Will be returning.
