To start a very tasty warm pretzel, though mustard was more honey rather than German style. I tried the daily special which was great, swapping potatoes for spätzle, which was a perfect texture and very well seasoned. The special was a schnitzel with a ragu style topping and covered in cheese and a couple of superb onion rings. Really quite tasty! My wife had the chicken schnitzel and really enjoyed this. Some music outside would be nice. It was a Sunday evening. I’m a huge fan of veal so was disappointed not to have this on the menu. I’ll be back if I’m ever passing the area to try the goulash.
The food tasted great The service was superb. There are some suggestions I feel would make it better. They now offer only one side with your meat entree. This one side is a huge amount piled under a schnitzel which is placed on top. There is no reason why you could not cut the portion in half and offer the potato and the vegetable. As great as the schnitzel tasted from an eye appealing point of view the dinner plate should look appetizing not just the meat plunked on top of the side. My husband had the special which was a slice of ham put on top of schnitzel with bruschetta and feta cheese on top of the ham. Again tasted great but not presented well. This restaurant has been in business for 50 years and there is no doubt that the food is good but there is room for improvement on the presentation.
My husband and I took advantage of Maximillian's amazing summer special and were blown away. The schnitzel was the best we've ever had and the portions were very generous.
The food and service were excellent! The atmosphere on the patio, with the fountains in the background, was fantastic. I can't wait to come back soon!
We had heare good reports so wanted to give it a try .Not having huge appetites decided to share a schniztel thus incurring a $2 extra charge (not a lot but a bit puzzling). Schnitzel was excellent and perfectly flavoured...;no salt and pepper on the table which was to me a sign that chef knew exectly what he/she was doing flavour wise. Finished off with marvelous cheese cake
