Fich at Petersham, which opened doors in 2018, is a creation of two former Bennelong chefs, Chef Jose Silva (who also owns Sweet Belem, and Bibo) and Chef Manny Paraiso. That fact alone made it worth a try and we were not disappointed. The sustainably sourced Seafood is supplied by Southern Fresh Seafood. We particularly enjoyed the Popcorn Fich. The Wine List was diverse. The location is easily accessible only meters from the train station and with parking available just across the street at the Post Office. <br/
Exceptional food. Great respect shown for the fresh fish that they serve. Service is excellent. And the ambiance of the place is really relaxing. I will definitely be back
Fich at Petersham is a restaurant that would not be out of place at the Sydney Fish Markets in Pyrmont except it has better parking, less crowds and you don’t have to actively avoid puddles of murky water to get a seafood fix. Headed by two chefs with Bennelong pedigree, the menu is a great mix of casual fish and chip fare along with some offerings that show off the chefs’ fine dining origins.
Set amongst the Portuguese chicken shops of Petersham, you’ll find this fish and chip shop offering takeaway as well as a refined dine-in restaurant experience. The regular fish and chips I had to go was fabulously fresh. Great food, great service.
