It was very crowded and very loud, so maybe we just came on a super busy day. It wasn't as clean as I remember it being in the past, both of my glasses were dirty and I just felt like the glassware really needed a deep clean. We went for lunch and were there for almost two hours, mostly waiting for our order to be taken and for the bill to arrive. It may have just been a really busy day but I was a bit disappointed compared to my previous experiences a few years ago. The server told us to split the bill with the cashier but the cashier was kind of spacing out and messed up the split. Although she apologized profusely, it was just another little inconvenience and we left it because we needed to get out of there. I gave 5 stars for food though, because the food is fresh and tastes great, they have great serving sizes, and there are great unique menu options, not just typical diner fare. The atmosphere is that of a diner but the food is restaurant quality, in my opinion.
They don’t make ‘em like they used to! This diner is nothing shorty of high quality and originality. Get the trout! Reminiscent of what I would imagine Don Draper and his family would visit on their Catskills family vacation. Coffee is tasty. Food is delicious. Atmosphere is blissful. Will be back for dinner!
If you want stellar food in a somewhat rural and random spot, this is it. The pancakes oh my. They were the best I’ve had in many years, potentially #1, period. Service at the bar on a Sat morning at 8am was superb. Gets crowded… be ready. But be ready for some of the best food you can buy.
Food was excellent however I do not recommend sitting outside. It wasn’t even that crowded when my family and I went. But we decided to sit outside because we had our dog with us. The outdoor tables were dirty. None of the employees were out there cleaning up tables and checking on customers, refilling the water cooler, etc. It seemed like they were maybe short staffed but either way it was kinda gross outside. But the food was amazing and I’d want to go back again if we were in the area to try it out again.
We had our Welcome Party/Rehearsal Dinner here in early July on a Sunday eve.. it was seriously fantastic. The weather was ominous but we were able to fill out the place under shelter in the lot (small, cute tables are set up diner style with an Airbus for a bar)! Guests were cozy and the food was DELICIOUS! Not to mention the food, drinks and service. Thanks to Courtney and the team, we had such an incredible night that no one wanted to leave! We are all still craving that delicious summer meal and the good vibes. Oh, and we highly recommend for breakfast too… duh!
