Elk Creek Steakhouse - Piedmont

Meh, wasn't very good for the price. Atmosphere was nice

Unfortunately this place is not one to go back to. Even though the attention we received was superb, the actual food and drinks were not. To start off, they had a board displaying the daily special at the entrance but when we ordered it they claimed not to be available. They open at 4pm and we were there at 5:30pm so if they ran out of it in 1.5 hrs (only 5 tables were seated when we got there) they didn’t have many of them to start off. We then looked into the menu and unfortunately they had ran out of half of the stuff on it. Even the waitress was embarrassed about it. To the point we told her “just tell us what do you have and we will order accordingly”. I ended up ordering a ribeye. The cut was a lousy 1/4” thick and overcooked with no flavor whatsoever. My buddy ordered a prime rib and again it was over cooked and just bland. My wife ordered a Buffalo cut and same story, overcooked and flavorless. As far as the drinks go, their liquor selection is very limited and definitely not top shelf. I ordered an old fashioned and got a glass of rye whiskey with soda and a cocktail cherry. Absolutely disgusting. The place’s ambiance is nothing to brag about either but prices are definitely up there with Dakotah Steakhouse which is only a few minutes away and 10000 times better. Again service was good, our waitress was very apologetic and enthusiastic but that’s about it. One to skip for sure.

The worst steak l have ever in the Black Hills of SD. The steaks were not only bad but very expensive.

Great meal, ribeye cooked perfectly, fresh salad, loaded baked potato, friendly staff, cold beer, tastey cheese cake!!!

Walked in and it took 15 min before anyone ever talked to us and they wernt even busy once we ordeed it was an hour and a half before our salad got to us and another 30 for our food which was cold like it was made sat there for so long then brought to us. I asked for a1 sauce multiple times and each time they brought me something different that wasnt a1 then proceeded to ask if we wanted cheese cake to make up for the long wait then brought us 1 piece (there is 3 of us) and it wasnt even good tasted like playdo. The place has won my personal award for worst restaurant ive ever been too
