The menu offered a good variety for a food truck. I tried the gyro with homemade tzatziki, and it was well made with a generous portion of meat. The seasoning was just right, and the pita was average. The fresh vegetables and crisp tomatoes were a nice touch. The tzatziki sauce was creamy and flavorful with bits of cucumber, complementing the meat perfectly. They gave two small containers of sauce, which was a great deal. Overall, I liked this spot for its homemade, delicious meals with healthy options. It's a great choice for those following a Mediterranean diet.
The food truck from Hummus Pittsburgh visited my workplace, but they arrived late with only two people working on the truck due to a last-minute call-off. This caused a bit of chaos, as they couldn't dedicate one person to taking orders. Despite this, the meals we ordered, which included a variety of meat and meatless options like chicken and lamb, were hot and tasty. We wished for more pita to go with the generous serving of hummus. I'm certain that the service would have been faster with a third person on staff. Overall, I look forward to trying Hummus Pittsburgh again soon.
Perhaps the key is to dine at the food truck instead of the physical restaurant. The spinach pie had undercooked, doughy bread and a minuscule amount of filling. The Baba was terrible - completely swimming in oil with no taste. I ended up throwing it away as well. I spent $16 and still left feeling hungry. With Jolina's, Pitaland, and Aladdin's all nearby and offering better prices, I won't be returning to this place.
