Attended Twine on Saturday 4th February for a hens do with 30 other ladies. The entire experience was incredible, from Karen our organiser being very professional and efficient in her responses to Matt the chef putting on the best feast ever! I could not even choose my favourite dish they were all so amazing! It's was an extremely hot day and we were seated outside however a nice breeze helped cool us down and the serves continually offered beverages and were not offended by us jumping up and walking around the venue to look at the stunning scenery. Also, to top it all off the bride to be was spoilt with 2 desserts!!! Thank you thank you thank you for an unforgettable experience. Cheers, Jess
Every 2nd month on Monday Twine has a 6 course Dego Lunch matched with Wine for $60 that occupies a permanent spot in my diary, so I thought I should probably write about it. Yesterday as with other months it was hosted by the owner and masterchef Matt Dillow and the food was fabulous. It has a convivial atmosphere with long tables and new friends made on every outing. Matt's signature Soufle was pretty special, Lamb was amazing. So was the Barramundi + Squid, so a light cheese plate was all I needed for dinner.
What a great day. We couldn't have had a nicer time.We picked this location to celebrate a 60th birthday knowing we would have to allow for 10 kids under 10, they had plenty of space to run and play on the large grass area and as Twine is now a function centre we had the place to ourselves so laughing and running was not a problem. We enjoyed canapés on arrival, the Trout and Olives being just scrumptious, followed by three courses of equally yummy food. We had plenty of time as we had the venue booked for four hours so we could have a relaxed meal and enjoy the great wines. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was a problem. Will definitely return for any future family functions.
We've recently visited Twine as part of a family werkend away from the rat race, two adults and two teenagers. The food was good, the portions were quite generous. The food prices align with what one would be expecting for this type of restaurant in the Hunter, most restaurants are on the pricy side. We had 4 mains and four desserts, some drinks (two glasses of wine), and the bill was close to $240.The atmosphere wasn't great. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and by the time we left there were about 5 occupied tables. The decor is nice and the place presents well, I was just missing the soul. It was just another restaurant, nothing special or really standout about it.Next time I'm in the Hunter I'll visit a different restaurant, maybe one with a bit more personality and soul.
