Been here a few times before & always enjoyed it, but left tonight feeling very disappointed!Unfortunately meat is no longer carved at your table we were only able to order from the al a carte menu, which was very mediocre! We ordered the mixed grill which was the closest thing to the carved BBQ meats that we would normally have. All the meat came ready carved on a plate but it was so tasteless that none of us even new what meat we were eating.Unless this restaurant changes its menu it will lose local custom which will have a massive effect during low season.
Having spent time in South America, we found the food to be true to what we ate there - simple yet tasty. It was a busy night but we were taken care of and didn't have to wait long for food. Empanada pastry was melt in the mouth, caiparinhas tasted exactly as they should, and the meat tender and served with rice and beans and simple salad.Owner was very attentive, but perhaps a bit verbally agressive to the staff - although we can imagine it tricky to get long term workers who know what they're doing in such a transient place. Help yourself to plates/cutlery and water and pay when you order reduced the need for additional staff and meant you could leave when you wanted. No waiting for bill's - which was handy with a waking infant. All in all, we would return.
Enticed by the barbecue aromas wafting out from the restaurant each time we passed, we came for dinner but left feeling let down. The skewered meat was over cooked and dry and the salad was chopped up iceberg lettuce mixed with shreds of something red (tomato?) and no discernible dressing.
Over cooked and underwhelming unfortunately. We expected more than bland meat dishes. Supposed to come with vegetables but they were scarce and the grilled pineapple 'dessert' was no more than an afterthought.
