Excellent coffee and cookies located in an interesting old building in downtown Port Hope. Great window seats to watch the comings and goings of Port Hope. The owner is a super nice guy with a lot of knowledge about the Town. The restaurant could use a really good scrub by a group of professionals..its the overlooked/hard to reach places that need some help.
We ate dinner before the show. The service is fast and friendly. The food always good. The caesar salad is always fresh and plentiful. The quiche and chicken pot pie hot and tasty.
A little pricey for the cakes in my opinion, but the coffee is nice. Really came in because the interior decor is really reminiscent of Paris.
Heard the story about how the owner turned down a multi million dollar PC deal and had to try them. This is a bilingual establishment. The Crazy Cookie is amazing. Very rich, soft and chewy, awesome flavours and oozing with caramel. What's not to like?! It's extremely difficult not to get more than one.The cakes here are very decadent and the ice cream is also amazing. He always has a few sandwiches on the go as well, I had the chicken salad with cranberry. Delish!Side note: I got to talking with the owner and couldn't believe how open and nice he was, but I figured it out. He's a New Brunswicker! You can't beat an East Coaster, you just can't, no nicer people around than maritimers!
