Edna's - PORT MAITLAND

Simple quality baked goods are the specialties of the day here. Pies , tarts, breads and the things that were common place in the pantry in days gone by this is what Edna's is about. And the price.. as I said I feel like I'm robbing the place when I leave with an armload of delicious baked goods for what I paid for them. Do yourself a favour, stop in and feed your cravings with fresh not mass produced processed goodies. Your taste buds will thank you for it.

Edna's is a bakery and is next door to the nice community centre at the Hook and Sea.The rolls, breads and cookies are famous here - the ginger snaps (paper thin and intense in gingerness) and the cheese bread twists are both must try items. The staff is super friend;y and know there stuff - go there, and treat yourself!

This place has melt in your mouth freshly baked turnovers. It will be hard to resist not having a second one.Buy a few items, go next door and pour yourself a coffee at the gift shop and sit on their large deck out back and enjoy. They welcome people using their deck.

Don't often buy takeaway so when I do it's an easy drive through the drive through.

Each year we visit Yarmouth and stay at a campground near Port Maitland. And each year while there, we make visits to this local community bakery. The earlier you go, the more selection of treats are available. We have always found the breads and tarts...excellent. Nice to see these local shops in business.
