Food that tasty, staff very friendly and thoughtful! Quick service, even on full house. Very good experience.
Chef, take a bow. The Pizza Cicciolina was amongst the best pizza ever. Great job. Your waiting staff however do you a dis-service. Un- interested, 3 requests for an ice bucket for the wine, served the wrong water, and charged for items we hadn’t had. Clearly you do ok because you’ve been busy every time we passed, but if you don’t sort your service out, you’re unlikely to get the 40 year celebratory pizza peel on the wall.
Our favourite Pizza place was closed, so we decided to give what was advertised as the best pizza joint in the Algarve a go. Boy were we disappointed. We asked a waiter called Deepak for a table for two he pointed to a table and walked away. There was a choice of inside or outside, but he didn’t offer anything as his mouth didn’t move. He brought the menus and walked away again without telling us of any special priced meals etc. we ordered cheesy garlic bread for starters, cola for a drink and portuguesa pepperoni pizza for main. Deepak seemed pissed off we didn’t want wine, but then he seemed as knowledgable about wine as a block of wood, because again he didn’t speak. If it wasn’t for the background noise of people talking, I would have thought I was deaf. He returned with the garlic bread on a platter and basically dropped it in front of us on the table and walked away. We even had to cut it ourselves! The pizzas were brought out by another waiter who spoke up and was very pleasant. The cost of the dinner was €40.20. Again, overpriced by other pizza standards and not the best in the Algarve. If I had to say which pizzeria knocked it out of the park, I would say Bulli Pupe and definitely not La Dolce Vita. The bill was made up of 1 x Cheesy Garlic Bread €6.50, 2 x Cola’s at €7.00, 1 x Portuguesa pizza €13.30 1 x Pepperoni pizza €13.40. My advice is go to Bulli Pupe and stay away from Deepak La Dolce Vita. Just because La Dolce Vita is across the road from Algarve Casino Hotel, doesn’t me the service is on a par with a 5 star hotel. Because it isn’t, in fact it sucks!
Firstly the staff are unfriendly, no eye contact or speaking to you when they bring out your food, secondly the food is overpriced in comparison to the rest of the pizza places on the strip it’s still just pizza at the end of the day! We gave this place a try as the other places we would normally go to were closed (Tuesday night they seem to close for whatever reason), I would not recommend this restaurant and I will certainly not be back.
