However, the atmosphere was a bit odd - dark, smoky, and dungeon-like, reminiscent of an old nightclub. The service was good, but felt very Americanized. It was enjoyable overall, but not quite what we were anticipating. We probably won't do the BBQ again as it seemed more like a novelty experience rather than a truly delicious meal. I would consider returning to try some of their other dishes, but I would opt to sit upstairs next time.
We were at the bar for dinner early NYE. Drinks were great and the food even better! Friendly staff. We’ve been before and will definitely be back!
I am pretty frugal with my stars, so my reading reflects a really wonderful time. We had an early dinner here on New Year’s Eve, sitting along the window in high bar chairs, watching the beautifully lighted exchange Street on a lovely winter evening. Long story short, our service by the bartender was extraordinary. His suggestions were right on, his sense of humor delightful and his attentiveness measured perfectly. Now the food. Where to start. How about with the fried chicken. Oh. My. God. Crunchy, spicy, sweet, tart, I could’ve eaten it all night. The fried squid was again, crunchy with no greasiness, beautifully seasoned and some of the best I’ve ever had. Delectable pork dumplings. And the cabbage pancake really surprised us. I seriously could eat that for breakfast or lunch every single day. We shared a Bibim Bap beef bowl Which out of everything we tried, and we tried a lot, was probably the least memorable but still delicious. Run, do not walk, to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. We will be there again and again.
Apparently it was out very sweet waitress’s first night. Unfortunately she wasn’t well prepared. We were new to this and didn’t get a good explanation of how the BBQ works. Everyone felt the sides that come with the shared meals were not sufficient for the stated size of the share. And while the meats were tasty, we all left a bit hungry given the price, which was roughly $60/person with drinks. The owners and particularly their lovely son were helpful and attentive, but it just wasn’t the kind of experience we’d do again.
This is a great little spot! We went downstairs for the Korean BBQ and the quality of the food was great. Was our first experience of Korean BBQ and we were not dissapointed, will be back for sure
