The Grill Room And - Portland

We made reservations a month before we got to Portland because we were traveling from Florida and wanted to make sure we got in. We got confirmations right up to when we were supposed to be there. Unfortunately when we got there the restaurant was closed due to a small fire. We got no notice at all that this happened. I will make sure from now on that when I travel to a different state, I call the restaurant to make sure they are open. Finding another restaurant in Portland Maine in the middle of the summer wasn't easy. Very disappointed.

The pork chop was cooked to perfection and the salmon was outstanding! Our server Claire was knowledgeable and friendly. Sitting at the chef’s counter was an added plus. The “grilled” really came through tonight and made it very special.

The hostess was very nice and made us feel welcome; the waiter (Andrew) was very professional, friendly and courteous great job! The food was delicious shared a wedge salad and baked brie appetizers, then a steak and lobster mashed potatoes for me, scallops and lobster risotto for my wife. Good wines to choose from too. The ambience was comfortable and relaxing. Great place to have an excellent dinner.

Excellent place to enjoy a great steak or just sit at the bar and have a few drinks. Our waiter, Will, was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to chat with during our visit. He made us feel like family from the moment we sat at the table. If you like oysters, their smoked oysters were the best!! The restaurant is small so would highly recommend making reservations. We will definitely add The Grill Room and Bar to our must visit list while in Portland!!
