They were tasty and hot and the coleslaw was excellent, the non GF pizza ordered...that I didn't taste also got the seal of approval. A hiccup in the GF order meant a second meal was provided which was done efficiently. You can buy wine at the bottle store and staff will bring it to the bar to serve at corkage which is a better bet than the limited restaurant wine list. Despite renovations in the dining room the space is still pretty sparse and dining on the deck is more atmospheric. Service was prompt and there was so much food we took a doggy bag home. In all despite a glitch on this visit it is one of the best places to dine in Rainbow Beach.
The staff at the bar and restaurant were fantastic. You have the option to choose a bottle of wine from their attached bottle shop to enjoy with your meal, which offers a wide variety of selections. We decided to visit on Thursday night for their steak and ribs special. The meals were delicious, especially the tender ribs. We also indulged in the delectable sticky date pudding for dessert. The service was incredibly attentive.
It comprises a clubhouse, a lawn bowls green, a gym, an aquatic centre and tennis courts. Quite a mix. The clubhouse is bigger than it looks from the street. There’s a large dining/lounge area, a bistro, some pokies, decent size bar, bottle shop, sports bar...with Tab and Keno, a pool table, a deck overlooking the bowls green and another lounge/dining area with a bar, dance floor and a stage. I had just popped in for a beer and to check-out the club for future dining. Their lunch menu had about ten items like wedges, nachos, wraps, burgers and a chicken enchilada. Couldn’t see a salad. Prices ranged from to For dinner there were a couple of breads and about five starters. A couple of salads, steaks, lamb shank, beef and Guinness pie, some chicken dishes, six seafood items including their Fisherman’s Feast- battered fish, tempura scallops, coconut crumbed prawns and salt and pepper calamari. Plus, roast of the day. Prices ranged from for the starters up to for the rib fillet. Most were around They might have daily specials like most clubs but I didn’t spot any. Maybe when I was there it was too early for the dinner specials to be displayed. They also had Seniors meals, all and some kid’s meals too, all There were pizzas as well, or nine offerings priced from for a small size up to for a large. Quite a good variety I thought for a club in a relatively small seaside town. Parts of the complex adjoin the main drag, the aquatic centre is hard to miss but the entrance is in a side street. When I was there between lunch and dinner it was fairly quiet but was told it can get busy. Worth a look.
Great burgers and higher end fries, I've also had the chicken wing basket and loved the Garlic Parmesan wings. I will eat here more I'm sure, it seems to attract more of the locals and less of the tourists which is nice.
WE were told about the sports club and their meals but they even surpassed what we were told. From when we walked in, the staff were all helpful and even though they were very busy nothing was a bother. I actually could not eat all of my meal as the chicken parmi was so big - but beautifully cooked and presented.
