Original report: the almenhof is located directly on the picturesque back lake in the city part ramsau. it is a gasthof with pension that offers 30 beds. the house was built in 1938. After the second world war, children from destroyed German cities were accommodated here. after that the house was returned to its original meaning. about the rooms we cannot say because we only visited them locally. it is offered a simple kitchen, in Bavarian and regional direction. there is nothing to complain here and we can see this again and again after years of visit. the prices are in a normal area despite the picturesque location on the back of the lake. the service staff, which has also been serving here for several years, is friendly and accommodating. the chef chef and the senior boss welcome their guests from the kitchen, which is separated by a tresen of the band. this also gives them a view into the kitchen and can also form a concept for it. the only thing we don't like is the obvious collection of owners. in the actual dining room they notice nothing of it, but the next room is full of old household and agricultural objects. the toilets are new and in a clean condition. the alpenhof receives 4 stars and we can recommend this without restriction. update, a day after the first evaluation: today a scavenger carving with a carrot. price €13,80. there is an increase to 5 stars.
After we checked a fairly rainy and cold day at the back of the lake, we decided to have an early dinner at one of the facilities erected on the west side of the lake. as our walk on the parking lot ended at the southwest corner, her cared about the road and looked at the posted menu for the nearby alpenhof. we went in and were warmly greeted by the waiter and immediately sat in a cozy, traditionally decorated dining room. we had the place quite to ourselves rain days tend to draw some visitors to the back. the waiter spoke a little English and was quite patient with the attempts of her reviewer in German. the dishes were all tasty, and actually a kerbe over most of the traditional meals we had on other places so far during our trip. In summary, our early dinner was very good, and the alpenhof will be at the next visit in the opposite of our place.
My wife and I found this restaurant during the walk around the back of the lake at ramsau. the hotel had a very charming look at it and was right next to a restaurant hotel we had read about. After we have a quick look at the menu outside...and the special boards, we decided to give it a try as the terrace had a great view of the lake and the local mountain. we were very happy with our choice. the waitress who served us was very nice and helpful, although I am not sure she spoke English. it wasn't a problem when she was patient with us. I actually asked for a court that I did not see on the menu, but previously enjoyed visiting Bavarian. the waitress realized that the restaurant could actually make this court and later returned with exactly the court I was hoping for. it was excellent. While this restaurant does not seem to have many reviews online, we would highly recommend it for eating, service and wonderful location.
After spending a rather rainy and cold day at the Hintersee (reviewed separately), we decided to have an early dinner there at one of the establishments lined up on the west side of the lake. Since our walk finished up at the parking lot at...the southwest corner, your reviewer strolled across the road and looked at the posted menu for the nearby Alpenhof. We went in and were welcomed warmly by the waiter, and seated immediately in a cozy, traditionally-furnished dining room. We had the place pretty much to ourselves rainy days tend to be draw few visitors to the Hintersee. The waiter spoke some English and was quite patient with your reviewer's attempts at German. The dishes were all tasty, and actually a notch above most of the traditional meals we'd had at other places so far during our trip. In summary, our early dinner turned out very well, and the Alpenhof is going to be our go-to place next time we're visiting the area.
My wife and I found this restaurant while walking around the Hintersee near Ramsau. The hotel had a very charming look to it and was right next to a restaurant/hotel that we had read about. We were very pleased with our choice. The waitress who served us was very nice and helpful, although I am not sure she spoke English. It wasn't an issue though as she was quite patient with us.
