Nearly everything on the menu can be made vegan and gluten free.
Shop 225 is run by the same team as Il Caminetto, but the menu sets it apart by offering a larger selection of vegan and gluten-free pizzas. This time, we opted for the Capricosa wood-fired pizza, which was not vegan or gluten-free. As anticipated, the crust was crispy with a nice toasty flavor, and it was topped with tomato, fior di latte (a semi-soft fresh cheese), mushrooms, ham, olives, and anchovies. The anchovies added a delightful salty kick, making the pizza exceptionally flavorful.
Shop 225, one of my favourites for pizza in Melbourne, recently launched a new menu. Calamaro Piccante is full of spicy and punchy flavours. This satisfying calamari dish is stuffed with breadcrumbs, ‘nduja and potato, and the cherry tomato and olive sauce brings extra tang and salt. For something lighter and less fiery, the Carpaccio could be a good pick.
Experience authentic Italian flavors, high-quality ingredients, and maximum flavor that makes the trip to the suburbs absolutely worth it. The wood-fired pizzas are a favorite among locals, with crispy bases and a perfect doughy bite, topped with a smoky and aromatic char. However, Shop 225 offers more than just pizzas - they also have a variety of fresh and delicious salads, pastas, and appetizers to enjoy alongside their famous pizzas.
