Contribuer aux commentairesAugust 3. We had reservations, were seated. Good wine, very nice staff. The noise level was almost unbearable, impossible to talk. A musician performed along with canned background, adding to the din. Seriously, those exposed to these conditions for very long should use hearing protection. The food was disappointing. A person could get the same appetizers by walking around Costco when samples are available.
My review specifically references the Spirits/Spirits flight at the Richland Winery. My interest was in the nature of spirits distilled from grapes/wine (I don 't know the details of how they did it since we had no discussion with the staff . GR charged us $15 for a flight (if we can all it that... of 3 spirits plus a cocktail (more like a mocktail... . The biggest issue were the size of the pours.... There was not more than perhaps a quarter to at most a third of an ounce in our glasses. This is INSANE! I have been sipping countless spirits for years and was shocked that we would not have been provided decent pours for $15 a half or 2/3s of an oz costs absolutely nothing to GR but they gave us barely enough except for a couple of small sips. Second, and nearly as significant, the spirits suck they are just not quality material. I give some credit to the vodka not bad and interesting. I did not bother finishing my teeny pour of gin (yuck! and the brandy started well but late mid palate into the finish became bitter... Simply lousy brandy don 't waste your effort. The so called cocktail Silly sweet lemonade with no noticeable alcohol what a joke irrelevant. So there you have it don 't waste your time or money on GR 's spirits or spirit flight... Super disappointed in the corporate treatment of this part of the business and colors my perspective of GR. All that being said the grounds of the Richland winery are lovely great lawn, lawn seating, nice winery inside albeit a bit dark. There you have it hope the wine flights and wine are WAY better....otherwise GR is simply nice grounds...
We had a birthday party of 8 (and 2 infants) i called ahead to see if we could bring our own food/cake since they only offer small bites and cheese plate. they said it was fine as long as we sat outside. we sat out in the lawn area 4 of us tasted and we were told since we’re sitting in the lawn we would have to come inside to order and they wouldn’t wait on us. OK. so the same 3/4 of us that tasted ended up getting another glass after our tasting. I close i’m charged an automatic 30% gratuity for being a “group larger than 8” even though it was only 4 of us that ordered anything and we didn’t even get waited on. 4 tastings, 3 glasses of wine, my total was $163.78. absolutely ridiculous. there was never a mention of any automatic gratuity beforehand either. i’m very disappointed in the service and pricing, especially being in the industry myself 30% gratuity for literally doing nothing besides physically pouring the wine in our glass for 4 people is outrageous.
Amazing spot when you have a little down time or want to sample some local wines. Beautiful vineyard. Last time, we were in the tasting room, but this time we went out back, where there are bocce ball courts and corn hole. We had a great tasting and a very good charcuterie board.
It’s a great place if you like to be left alone by waitstaff to the point of having to hunt them down to pay your bill. Then they act as if you’re inconveniencing them. Why is a gratuity even a thing anymore? Can’t speak to the food as the menu was very sparse so we did not eat. Eat before you go. Wine was good.
