Quick and delicious. The BBQ duck is homemade and outshines other fast food restaurants.
I had been intrigued by the reviews of Cafe Loyal. Many pointed to its decent food, unique menu and ordering system, and good prices. It had been on my list for a while, so when we were in the area and hungry, we decided to give it a try. Despite its low rent exterior, we rolled up and walked in without hesitation. The menu, however, was a bit confusing with a jumble of combinations and single items in campy graphics. Despite this, we were able to figure it out, order, and quickly pick up our food. And the food was surprisingly good! Marie had the Fish Soup Noodle Set with Crispy Chicken and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, which was tasty and satisfying. My Satay Beef with Rice was also satisfying with tender beef, vegetables, and rice to soak up the sauce. Each combo came with a drink and the whole meal was only $25, which was great value. The atmosphere was eclectic with friendly staff, and you can even buy Cafe Loyal T-shirts. Overall, a pleasant surprise!
Depending on what you order, some dishes are worth the price, some aren't. I found the menus quite hard to read because of the fancy designs. Food is done fairly quickly. They charge an extra $1 if you want your drink with NO ice. I've only been here once and I think it's worth it to return a few times to try other items on the menu.
Had breakfast here. Good value. Honest. Simple food. Would come back if I'm in the area. The staff there was friendly too. It has a clean, open kitchen... That's a bonus!
