I'm not sure that I've seen any of that in any other Arby's. I got a large roast beef sandwich and ate it minus the bun. I also got two of the gyro sandwiches (2 for $6! and ate those with knife and fork minus the pita bread. A little spendy but I stayed on my keto diet. The restaurant is inside an office building and shares the food court with other restaurants. [Review 12180 overall, 1964 of 2019.
This Arby's cracks me up. It's a national fast-food chain but you certainly can't tell when you walk in through the James Center. That's to say, this Arby's is in a league of its own. It reminds me of the McDonalds in Lugano, Switzerland, that has a chandelier in its bakery section. Maybe it's not quite on *that* level, but it's up there. I've yet to visit without standing in a lunch line. The hours are limited and the business crew of downtown Richmond loves this spot. The nice part is that menus are provided in the line and they give you a buzzer so you don't have to awkwardly hover over anyone while waiting for your order. Staff here is absurdly friendly. I don't know how they manage to engage each customer and keep the line moving so efficiently. The one sweet lady even lost her voice last month from talking to so many hungry customers in a short period!! So I've now tried a handful of their available items. I gotta say I lean toward their fried chicken, whether in the salad or in tenders. The honey mustard is nice too. I just find their beef to be a bit too salty and bland. It's not my thing, so I'll keep to what I know I like moving forward. I'll return for lunch...probably more often as the weather gets warmer. And maybe before or after the lunch rush.
I normally don't review fast food places, but this Arby's is way fancy. It's in the Three James Center lobby and feels like you're walking through a hotel lobby (it is in very close proximity to the Omni Hotel as well . Given that I work in the area, it's only to be expected that I would try it here eventually. Food: This Arby's is one of those upscale Arby's with homemade sides and other homestyle alternatives. (Check the menu in my pictures . There are plenty of fresh and more natural items here, which is something that I'm not used when going to Arby's. That said, my typical Arby's fare consists of curly fries and their chicken tenders, so that's what I ended up with. The food here was incredibly hot and I believe that they make just about all their food to order as they give you one of those hand buzzers that notify you when your meal is ready. They also have a variety of hot sauces and other sauces on every table. I've also had a few other things on future visits and the smokehouse brisket is incredibly good, and the way they make it actually looks like the pictures with a large unsquished bun. I was impressed. I know this is silly too, but they have an Arby's exclusive (I think? calorie free Juicy Peach tea. It's really good. This has been a deciding lunch factor before. Seriously. Cost: Update: I think items here are a little more expensive than some of the Arby's elsewhere, but I think it's more of the city of downtown Richmond inflation and not price gauging. And honestly they do such a professional job the extra dollar doesn't sting that bad. Atmosphere: As mentioned previously, the interior here is sleek. It has a lot of the same qualities of the building that it is in and the hotel it shares the building with (gold trim, shiny exteriors, etc . It's amusing to me to see some people dressed in casual clothes and an equally or large amount of people in business suits. Service: Everyone here was extremely pleasant. Fast food restaurants are normally hit or miss, but the staff here seemed to care. Overall: Yeah, it's an Arby's. However, if you're in the mood for an Arby's and in the area, this is a good one with plenty of options that not all Arby's have. Update: After having returned to this location a good dozen times or more, I have to say that this is probably the best, fastest, most polite, and overall best Arby's I've ever been to. The 5 star update isn't saying I think it's better than fancy restaurants, but for fast food, this Arby's really does pretty much everything right. I think it might be a little more expensive than other Arby's, but I think that all downtown places are inflated a bit, but it's worth it if you're in the mood for fast food.
I call this one Gucci Arby's. It's in the James Center lobby and it's super fancy. I feel like I'm at a 5 star restaurant when I come here, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The food is just as good as any other Arby's, but the atmosphere alone makes the food seem to taste even better. I'd recommend Gucci Arby's for a (very) cheap date night.
This Arby's location wins awards from what they tell me. It's easily the most professional and well run Arby's in the country. It handles a serious amount of lunch volume from people that work in downtown Richmond. They are always at the top of their game. The food is also properly made and in over 2 years of going here I've never had my order wrong. This Arby's is the gold standard for owners of the franchise. Takes notes, this place is awesome. The rotisserie chicken, fresh salads and curly fries are pure crack. The only gripe about this place is that it's in the city of Richmond. That means taxes. Not just normal taxes, I'm talking about EXTORSION taxes. It should be criminal. In closing, I would avoid this Arby's if you can help it. It's so clean and professional you'll think the rest are run like this. It might spoil you. You might get used to a civilized society where super polite people take your order with a smile. There are some really great people who work at this location.
