Decent gastro pub food if overpriced. service shocking: indifferent, inconspicuous. if it weren't for the location, would have been out of business years ago.
The fixed price menu on weekdays is excellent value for money. Sometimes service can be slow but it hasn't put me off from going back again and again.
Quite pub in barnes! always great for drinks and even for eating. this is our favorite lunch place, ideal for small parties at workstation and after work drinks. it has many seating in summer and indoor in winter. their crab cakes are my favorite, but overall everything is good. somehow I associate this place for small parties.
There is nothing more quintessential English than a village green with a pub and a duck. here mentioned in barnes, historically one of the market gardens of london and in Domesday-Book with its Saxon name bern to 1086, the pond is the central focus of the village, to which many of the houses and villas are grouped 18th and 19th centuries. until well in the 1900s the pond was the local irrigation hole for the living, although it is pure free time in these days. well colonized by all kinds of ducks and geese, it is inseparable woven into the fabric of every barnes childhood.
