You can either listen to funny/upbeat music in the Bar Area or more Classical in the dining room. The food was amazing! It was like eating in Italy! Not to mention the options; my husband loves seafood and I am more of a meat and chicken person! We could pick up everything. I cannot forget the service; what was perfect. It was like in a Forbes or Michelin Star Restaurant. The Anthony server was present all the time and checked us! And was always “round” when we needed. The drinks were also excellent! I have to say from all the restaurants I was in NYC! This restaurant blows her away! Fun cocktails that were consistently PERFECT! Hands down one of the best restaurants I have for a long time! I have nothing bad to say! It is worth the trip and if you have not been! Defiantly go, I promise you won't be disappointed.
We love this restaurant and eat there almost weekly.
Non-meat eaters be aware. Heavy meat menu. The bread plate came with focaccia bread and rolls. When we bit into the rolls they were filled with a tomato sauce with meat. Unexpected. Maybe they should let you know that the bread plate would have meat in it? Don't get me wrong the food was good and the service was excellent. If you are a vegan or don't eat meat your options are limited.
I rarely write reviews but needed to this time because it was a disturbing experience and a surprise for such a highly rated restaurant. Despite having a reservation we were seated at the very back of the tented area — so tight it was hard to get in or out. We waited 30+ minutes to get our drinks, two of which were awful (Cosmos that were all grapefruit juice). We had to go find the waiter to complain because he was so busy he hadn’t come back to check. We then waited a long time for our appetizers and another 30+ minutes to get our entrees. Manager came by to say we were being unreasonable that it’s normal to wait in a “fine dining” restaurant— instead of apologizing, and was very condescending toward us. When our food finally came it was excellent and our waiter was very apologetic and offered a dessert on the house. I don’t believe this experience was his fault — it was extremely crowded even for a Saturday night — but perhaps they should take fewer reservations if they don’t have the help. And instead of condescending toward us the manager should just have apologized for the long wait and wrong drinks. For the prices they charge, the whole experience should have been better. I have family members who work in the hospitality business and I am sympathetic to the many issues they are facing since the pandemic. However a “fine dining” experience should strive to be better overall.
Terra Sole is an odd mix of truly superior food (and prices), coupled with spotty service. I ordered the “Change Your Life Roll”, which is the most amazing sushi I’ve ever had. Dinner for 2 (no appetizers, minimal alcohol a shared dessert was $315, which seems ridiculous. When dessert was delivered, 1 of 2 coffees didn’t appear it took quite a long time to get someone’s attention. Similarly, paying the check was another long delay. The food was so amazing that I wouldn’t mind the prices of the service was even average.
