Contribuer aux commentairesMy wife and I get takeout here at least once a week. Fresh cooked to order real diner burgers and great fries. I hope the community supports this great locally owned diner as they have awesome burgers, reasonable prices, great friendly staff and a spotless restaurant.
Toppings serves delicious, fresh and well-prepared simple dishes. The poutine was amazing, made with fresh French fries, StAlberts curds, and a flavorful beef gravy.
I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and kept putting it off, either saying "next time, next time" or opting for a $2 burger at McDonald's. However, a friend finally took me to eat at this place.
The restaurant is charging prices that are too high considering the quality of the food. The burger patty is bland and unseasoned, just plain ground beef. The cook pressed the meat on the flat top, resulting in a burger that lacked juiciness. It took a long time to prepare our meals because the owner left the worker alone in the kitchen. My burger came topped with a cold slice of American Cheese, even though I paid $12 and expected better quality cheddar. The fries were mediocre, not up to par with what you can find at chain restaurants. This restaurant needs to improve in several areas. The cooks should be trained on how to properly use the flat top grill, including not flattening the patty while cooking. The burgers should be seasoned with garlic, spices, Worcestershire, or something to add flavor. They should also enhance their toppings game by using actual cheddar cheese or a variety of fresh cheeses that are melted on the burger. Offering homemade sauces like garlic aioli, horseradish ketchup, or house BBQ sauce would also elevate the dining experience. As a supporter of local businesses in Rockland, I expect value for my money. Unfortunately, this restaurant falls short in delivering that value.
