On entering there's a beautifully done lobby and lots of seat just outside and in the lobby. Our check in process was super smooth and the dog rate $30/night/pet. The room was fairly clean with fresh sheets and towels. I removed a star because the shower had had a green mold on it and the mirror was not cleaned. You can tell because of the love message still written on the foggy mirror. Lori, I'm not sure who Eli is but he likes you enough to write you messages. The breakfast was okay for a hotel breakfast. Dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the breakfast area, and there are no signs that indicate this. The girl working the breakfast had an extraordinarily difficult time explaining this to me and instead just asked me questions until I had to arrive on that policy myself from all of her questions. I dropped an additional star for the customer service in the morning. The gentleman working the Front desk had very little patience or regard for guests. Since dogs were not allowed in the dining room, the dog and I patiently waited in the lobby, and you could tell by all the sidelong glances he gave, we were not entirely welcome in the morning.
The property is clean and the staff was friendly. The only drawback is the motel location (it's adjacent to a major highway interchange. Our room was an even numbered room. The even numbers face the highways, the odd ones do not. So, if you consider continuous car and truck noise a plus, be sure to ask for an even numbered room. If peace and quiet is what you prefer, ask for an odd number.
The worse ever! I stayed here 11/6/21 and my room 314 was nasty. Stains on the covers. Blood stains on curtains. Bad mildew smell in the halls. Outdated hotel. No pool it's shut down and the breakfast for what you pay is not even worth it. I have yet to here from the manager that I was told once checking out earlier because of my experience. Haven't heard from Carlos yet! I will never stay here again. People stay at your own risk!
I've stayed here a few times in the past it's been a couple of years..back before I came back to Yelp a little over a year and a half ago but this is always been a excellent Country Inn and Suites although it is sits right on Interstate 55 trucks roaring buy cars roaring by if you don't mind the noise for the value you can't beat it.. this time I'm on the backside with a scenic view of the backside of Arby's and Wendy's. but the room is spacious it's clean the value is great for a king suites you can't beat it. from the check in to the welcoming and to calling if they had an available room you cannot ask for nicer people in these covid-19 times I've stayed here probably at least five or six times by choice sometimes I just don't want to go home and I just feel like getting a room and chilling... I do look for these when I'm on the road I do like these Carlson formerly now on by Radisson Country Inn suites they are Fantastic four the value their very clean great water pressure excellent air conditioning and cooling systems great staffing.. although here they have a grab-and-go so you might have to get yourself a little cereal or yogurt and go but there's a Cracker Barrel right next door so you got great breakfast.. sure they're hoping to open up the breakfast bar like all the other ones but it's just going to be a matter of time. as for the room I did ask for the suite. surprisingly for memorial Day weekend I got it for about a hundred and eight bucks with tax you can't beat that especially in the Chicago area. I didn't need a sofa bad just a regular couch this is good for like with two people you got two TVs in each room you can close the door for privacy you got the nice little living room area with a TV than ya got one by the bed. they got it really good Wi-Fi very clean bathrooms great hot water big plus for me and a tall shower head cuz I stand 6 ft.. and I don't like shower heads where I'm banging my head. the air conditioner cool down both rooms very quickly. they just recently repave the parking lot there is truck parking 2 in the front on the street like almost where my room is looking out the window on that little Street between the hotel and Arby's..but during weekdays you got to get there early cuz some locals have an account and they're cruising in there and then there's no truck parking.. because the fact that we're having some air conditioning work done at the house I decided to just get a room cuz it's close to where I parked the truck and it's all the same just me at parents house so I'm usually by myself all the time anyway. but what appears to be a nice another great stay at a Country Inn suites by Radisson becoming even more favorited by me then Hampton.
Reviews fooled me! My husband and I arrived here right before midnight. Per the guy at the front desk if you're not checked in by midnight they will charge you for the room and will resale your room Anyways the hotel check in went smooth. The lobby was nicely decorated and smelled clean. However, the smell of wet dog hit us as we entered the room. The room was nicely decorated too, but there were more issues besides the smell. The toilet seat was cracked, stains on the carpet, and the tiles on the jacuzzi were buckling at the bottom. I was completely shocked! Then the continental breakfast didn't not offer any type of protein (meat). Just drinks, eggs, oatmeal, and bread on top of bread with a few other things. I would give them 2.5 if it was an option.
