Wise Guys Pizza, 5675 Micco Rd., Micco, FL, 32976 4 stars When I saw the name Wise Guys Pizza appear in my random name generator, I couldn 't help but feel excited. Who doesn 't love a good pizza? Alongside chocolate, pizza is one of the four main food groups in my book. So, I grabbed my phone and keys, hopped into my Big Boy Mobile, and headed south to Micco to try out Wise Guys. Thanks to movies like The Godfather trilogy and Goodfellas, we all know that Wise Guy is slang for a made man in the Mafia. At this particular Italian restaurant in Micco, the wise guys behind the scenes are two brothers named Reece and Trevor Wise. Despite their young age, they run this small pizza shack with impressive efficiency. I placed an order for a slice of Pepperoni pizza, an Italian Hoagie (hot), and a Calzone. As I relaxed and observed the hard work these young lads were putting in, I was pleasantly surprised when my order was ready in no time. Of course, being the only customer in the place probably helped, although I did notice they had some delivery and take out orders in progress. First up was the slice of Pepperoni pizza. It was nothing out of the ordinary, just your typical Italian slice that you can find in any pizza joint across the country. Unfortunately, its averageness prevented it from earning a 5 star review, as it lacked flavor. Next, I moved on to the Italian Hoagie. I 'm a big fan of a good Hoagie, and this one did not disappoint. The bread was fresh, warm, and fluffy just the way I like it. The Hoagie was packed with fresh onions and cold cuts, and it hit the spot perfectly. I could easily eat this sandwich once a week and never get tired of it. Now, let 's talk about the Calzone. This is where the real pros shine, where the amateurs are separated from the experts, and where La Cosa Nostra stands apart from the Boy Scouts. For just 10 bucks, this Calzone is massive! Take a look at the picture with my hand for perspective. The dough is crispy, fluffy, and absolutely delicious, just like the Hoagie. The Calzone is filled with fresh veggies, tasty meat, a delightful marinara sauce, and loads of mozzarella. The Big Boy in me says, Stop by and meet Reece and Trevor. They know how to work wonders with food.
