The ice cream at this restaurant is on the pricier side (comparable to prices in Perth), but there are plenty of flavors to choose from whether you prefer it in a cone or cup. It's a delightful experience to sit and enjoy this treat while watching the quokkas.
The kids size ice cream cone was surprisingly large and satisfying. I really enjoyed the flavor and the service was very friendly. It was convenient to pay with a credit card as well.
I mean sure, people don’t generally crave ice cream as much in winter as they would in the warmer seasons but this is Simmo’s Ice Cream we’re talking about- the best scoop in WA. The nature of ice cream is that it is frozen, so opening in winter really shouldn’t be a problem- they’d not have to waste any product- it’s frozen! When we were there I saw maybe a dozen Chinese tourists, a handful of European tourists and a few other travellers, all of whom may never know the delicious joy of Simmo’s, winter or not. Poor form.
Limited opening hours in spring open for 2hrs (2–4pm) on Fridays and Saturdays only.. No tastings policy is also a shame. Ice cream was ok (passion fruit flavor was a bit gritty) sorbet better.
