Contribuer aux commentairesWe went on a Monday, simply because all other restaurants were closed. We had read the negative reviews and were braced for a bit of a ride. All in all, as a last resort, this place is not as bad as the rewiews put on. Prices are inflated indeed, and tbe main courses are tasteless, however my stomach was filled.
Found this place by chance, it was the closest restaurant to where we have parked our car and we needed to eat something quick. Simple design, place looked clean. Very accomodating staff showed us to the table. Large selection in the menu. Vegetarian options available in the pizza menu and they had an option of a multicereal pizza base for an extra euro, which i thought would be nice to try and also being curiouse because i am a pizza chef myself. So we have ordered: two pizzas (Margherita with mulcticereal base and ordinary Diavola(peperoni , Trento mixed platter which was suggested as a special of the day, sausage with spinach and some draft beer and water. Drinks arrived quick, for the food we had to wait a bit. Pizzas took around 20 min (which for two pizzas is a bit of a wait as we were the only table there and the rest of the order followed shortly after pizzas. So the pizza was really thin crispy and had pretty much no flavour...reminded me of a frozen supermarket pizza...that was burned as well. I know that they are using an electric pizza oven but it is not an excuse to serve pizza of such quality. Trento mixed platter had polenta (sloppy and flavoureless , roast potatoes (burned , crauti (really vinegary , mushrooms which were really nice and goulash which was pleasant (meat cooked through and warm. The cost of the Trento mixed platter was 17 euros! which i do not mind paying if the food cooked properly, and it was not. The total bill for a bottle of water, 2 medium and 1 small beer, two pizzas, mixed Trento platter and sausage with spinach came to € 71,80. Overpriced bad quality food... but this is a price to pay for not checking out place on tripadvisor. Overall will not recommend.
Coming there, we were favorably impressed by the friendly layout of the Sixties: soft pastel colors on the walls, old-fashioned chairs and tables. The whole dish of Trentino food has attracted the majority of us. Maybe because we were used in the previous days to a better regional cuisine, we were a little disappointed. Even the strudel (taken by all of us as a dessert) was decent but not exciting. But what was most regrettable, was that in a as popular property as this, no bulk wine of the housewas available: we were forced to take a bottled wine (half a liter) which in my opinion was not worth the nine euro of its cost.
