After enjoying a leisurely walk in the sun, my son and I decided to have a meal at this restaurant instead of just having tea and cake. Unfortunately, his beefburger was not good at all (I tried it myself). He described it as "boiled meat", and the small, tough piece I had reminded me of Bob Mortimer's "pocket meat" from Gone Fishing. It seemed like cheap ingredients poorly cooked. He ate it because he was very hungry. My jacket potato with cheese and beans was at least cooked (not microwaved) and came with Heinz beans. The cheese, however, was very bland and grated to a thin layer. The ham and cheese panini and ham sandwich we ordered also had cheap, flavorless, watery processed ham and plastic cheese. I would recommend just going for a drink as the cakes looked nice, but ordering hot food could be risky.
The stunning setting and delicious cuisine made for a perfect dining experience. We opted for a light lunch and were completely satisfied. To top it off, we indulged in a creamy scone for dessert.
Thankfully rang to reserve a table for a birthday lunch as it was so busy. Lovely friendly staff. It’s a cafeteria style ordering, but food delivered to table by a smart, clean waiter with white gloves. Delicious food, which everyone enjoyed. Nice selection of cakes too! Seeing the lake and the activity was lovely too.
Such a lovely atmosphere and great service from all the staff. My friends and I really enjoyed our lunch. The staff were very helpful indeed helping me to seat my elderly and disabled friend. To the extent of coming out with us after lunch, to help get her into the car! Great choice of food on the menu and fabulous views. What a lovely place to spend the afternoon.
