Contribuer aux commentairesI was worried at seeing the reviews and upon eating there I'm genuinely not certain where the poor reviews are coming from or what they were expecting but for Sabadell (and Spain I was pretty happy. As another review notes, saying something is expensive is subjective. If this was Southern California I'd say that's very expensive given all the options, if it's the north of Spain I'd say I'm fortunate to find a decent Mexican restaurant. What we had Caronitas Cochinita pibils You get 3 (each nicely seasoned, meaty, well presented tacos. As good as anything I've had in the best of places. Burritos Meat nicely seasoned, it's a bit on the small side but they are slightly toasted or pressed which adds a nice crust. Nacos Guac Both clearly made in house. If I'm being picky, maybe the guac has a bit too much lime juice, not enough (or any? red onion. You don't get much guac (maybe the equivalent of 1 small avo . Either way it's fresh and lasted seconds. Tequilla and Beer Good selection from Don Julio to Heineken on draft and Mexican bottles (no Corona, which is fine as there is much better . Any more than that and you're down to individual tastes. I personally would not order desert from a Mexican restaurant similar to any Asian restaurant unless there was something mind blowing. What I had were my Mexican staples, having loved Mexican food in Mexico, California and some good Mexican haunts back home in Blighty.
I have mixed feelings with this place... The food is good, not the best Mexican I have been but it's okay. The Nachos are good but too salty and the enchiladas are not well done in my opinion but the burritos and the chicken fingers are good. The place looks really well set and some of the people working there is really kind and nice.. But maybe because the place was completely full one of them was not. We'll need to come back, but was niether good or bad... Average.
We have been a few times now to this place, on our own and with friends, and each time have enjoyed our visit. The atmosphere and food are great, service is good and although not cheap, I do not find it insultingly expensive. A meal usually works out for us about €60 for two. Starter to share €10, main €15/20, couple of beers) But sometimes extras, the Margaritas are good, €6.50. Steak is good €18), but we prefer the Pollo Picantón. €12) I am genuinely surprised at the number of “terrible” ratings posted. Although most of the negative comments are to do with price, and to be fair, whether or not something is expensive is very subjective. For us, we enjoy the food, especially the chicken. No, its probably not authentic, but its tasty enough for an occasional visit. And it’s in Sabadell, not quite the gastronomic capital of the world!! Regardless of the negative postings, its gets pretty busy, so booking is advised, or get there early.
