I would have never thought there was such a small town feel cafe with good, home cooking in the city like that, but omg y’all amazing! From the warm welcome when we walked in the door, to the above and beyond service from our waitress, Shannon, to the awesome breakfast and with small town pricing! Just amazing. Their lunch and dinner specials looked wonderful too. I sure wish we had a cafe like this in the Boerne/Fredericksburg area!! I called in for a pick up and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. She asked me what I wanted and I began to tell her, then she cut me off saying “well I gotta get the screen on my computer up so hold on!” In a very snappy tone. Then rudely asked me for my name, as if I were to know she needed that first. When she had already asked me to tell her what I wanted and I was doing that. Then I had the “pleasure” of getting to see her when I got there to pick up my food. It was not a pleasure. She’s just as rude and unpleasant in person as she is over the phone. I was just picking up an order and instead of handing me my receipt she holds it back and asks me if I wanna leave a tip. I said sure, assuming the tip would go to kitchen staff since I didn’t have a waitress, and again instead of handing me the receipt so I can do it myself she just asks me how much. I didn’t sign anything so it just felt weird. The food however was really good. I’ve sat down and ate here plenty of times and always enjoyed the food. This was my first time dealing with this woman and I was less than pleased with her service. They need to remove her from the face of the restaurant and put her away from the customers.

We made the huge mistake of visiting this restaurant for the first time today. The food was absolutely terrible. The Mac and cheese is like that from a box, but if they put in way too much milk. It was just sitting in its own puddle of sadness. They replaced it with buttered corn . I don 't know what they put on this corn, but it wasn 't butter. It looked like it was swimming in its own can juice, except there is a horrific taste we can 't get out of our mouths since we tried it- I 've never had canned corn that bad before in my life. The chicken fried chicken was small, gray, sad, and not crispy. We asked for cornbread and got a dinner roll instead. There was no flavor in the cinnamon French toast- I think they accidentally gave us a pancake instead. The pinto beans were decent- that 's about the best thing I can say. When paying, they asked my husband how the food was. He said, Horrible! She said that was her first complaint. Like ever? The waitress was nice, but the person at the register was not helpful. Anyways, we couldn 't finish the food, paid full price, and went to another restaurant so we can eat some decent food and try to get this taste out of our mouths. Gross. Food: 1 Service: 1
