By chance we came across this restaurant on the internet when staying in the near by village last week. We went in on a weekday and it was very quiet, there was a few people having some drinks. The restaurant is located in a very...remote pretty village, next to the town hall. The owner/chef was very friendly and talked us through the set menu were you could pick one of options for each course, our French isn't very good but he was happy to help with what we didn't know. We had a five course meal with a jug of wine and four addition drinks, soup, pate, steak, cheese board and finally a coffee all was very pleasant. The owner was very chatty and he had a gentlemen practices his singing/guitar work in the bar which was nice whilst eating. Overall a lovely evening and such a good price for people for everything!!!!!
We have been to La Poutre several times for the SWAT fund raising evenings which have always been good food and great fun not to mention reasonable prices! So today we went there for a birthday lunch for my wife. The menu De jour in...any other restaurant would be classed as a la carte. A soup to get things started, a choice of hot or cold starters followed by a good choice of main courses including a fish choice. Cheese or desert to follow and wine included all for euros. The four of us had different meals and all were beautifully cooked and presented. We can't recommend it enough!!!!!!
We have eaten here many times. We frequently have Sunday lunch there. It is one of the few places in Dordogne where it is possible to enjoy a traditional Sunday lunch.A three course lunch with wine included for is very good value. I rate...this restaurant highly.
